Stones logo tongue & lips Stained Glass suncatcher
 
This sweet one-of-a-kind stained glass suncatcher was made by a Portland-based artist, Tamara Goldsmith.
This piece features individually cut pieces of stained glass soldered together using the Tiffany method. It features a deep red cathedral glass for the lips and pink wispy glass for the tongue. Wirework defines the teeth and tongue with additional detail. Inspired by the classic logo of iconic band the Rolling Stones.
 
Measures about 5" wide and about 6" tall.
 
The solder lines on this piece have been given a black patina, and are waxed for a protective, shiny surface. 60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came.
Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded, causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
