Stained Glass Raincloud with falling drops and crystals

This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass raincloud was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio.

The solder lines and lead came frame on this piece have been left shiny silver... (because every raincloud has a silver lining), and are waxed for a protective, shiny surface. The raindrops have an iridescent sheen and the crystals are repurposed chandelier glass that really make this piece sparkle in the sunlight.

Hangs from two points near the top and sides with a matching silver chain.

Measures about 10" tall, 8" wide and hangs from the top of the chain to the bottom; about 16" in total.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used as well as a small amount of wire work to add definition to the cloud.

Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
