House Martin Stained Glass Suncatcher

This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in my Portland, OR studio. This piece was made with a variety of types and colors of stained glass, primarily reds and blues, with a wispy grey and transparent hammered texture for the background. There is a red faceted jewel at the top, and color-changing Dichroic glass for the background halo around the bird. This color change ranges from mauve to blue-green to hot pink and purple. the refraction of color is incredible when light passes directly through!

The piece measures about 11.5" square, about 14" from left to right corner and about 20" long from the top of the chain to the bottom of the piece.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used, thus special care is suggested when cleaning/handling suncatchers containing lead. Lead is only dangerous when inhaling lead dust or ingesting significant quantities over time. There is no health threat to owning a stained glass window containing lead.

All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.
