Crying Eye Stained Glass Suncatcher
 
This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in my Portland, OR studio. This piece was made with a variety of types and colors of stained glass, pinks and deep blue for the background and pale reds, pinks and iridescent blues for the eye. A textured milky glass was used for the water line, and three faceted gems are the tears. The video shows a variety of refraction effects when placed in bright direct light, colorful sparkles disperse from the jewels and a variety of colors pass through the diverse types of glass in the piece.
 
The piece measures about 11.5” wide and 14" tall. With the chain, it's about 20 inches from the top of the chain to the bottom of the piece.
 
60/40 lead/tin solder was used, thus special care is suggested when cleaning/handling suncatchers containing lead. Lead is only dangerous when inhaling lead dust or ingesting significant quantities over time. There is no health threat to owning a stained glass window containing lead.
All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.
