Medium Snake Charmer Stained Glass Suncatcher, Snake shed and bevels with crystal drops
These lovely copper-foiled stained glass sun-catchers were handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio.
Made from a locally sourced snake shed cut to fit and sandwiched between beveled and stained glass diamond shapes. Crystal drops hang from there which send tiny rainbow sparkles around the room when natural light passes through them. Hangs from a lightweight jewelry chain.
The solder lines on this piece have been given a black patina, and are waxed for a protective, shiny surface.
Measurements are as follows;
Large; 2" wide, 9" tall and 40 mm diameter crystal
Medium; 1 3/4" wide, 7" tall and 20 mm diameter crystal
Small; 1 1/2" wide, 5" tall and 20 mm diameter crystal
hangs from a 6" length of chain.
60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came.
Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
