Cat Skull Stained Glass Suncatcher, Dichroic glass teeth
This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in my Portland, OR studio. This piece was made with 4 different types of stained glass, Wispy Vanilla for the skull, which details the contours of the skull beautifully. Iridescent black was used for the silhouette, transparent cobalt blue for the background and a dichroic (color-changing) blue/pink glass for the teeth.
The dark cat silhouette reflects an iridescent rainbow in front direct light, and the teeth shift from a variety of jewel tones when tilted in front or backlight. Pictures indicate all types of light which can transform this piece.
It hangs from a black chain about 8 inches from the top and the piece itself is about 10” in diameter.
 
60/40 lead/tin solder was used, thus special care is suggested when cleaning/handling suncatchers containing lead. Lead is only dangerous when inhaling lead dust or ingesting significant quantities over time. There is no health threat to owning a stained glass window containing lead.
All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.
