This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio. This piece was made with a variety of types and colors of stained glass, wispy greens for the background a mixture of evocative colors for the hair, skin and shirt. The face and afro have been painted with a permanent glass paint. The iridescent white Black Panther Button has been hanpainted in painstaking detail. This is an important piece for me, holding space for the inspiration and strength needed in troubled times.
 
The piece measures 12X14 inches. With the chain, it's about 20 inches from the top of the chain to the bottom of the piece.
 
60/40 lead/tin solder was used, thus special care is suggested when cleaning/handling suncatchers containing lead. Lead is only dangerous when inhaling lead dust or ingesting significant quantities over time. There is no health threat to owning a stained glass window containing lead.
All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.
